President William Ruto and his government have noticed that their earlier intentions to probe the happenings that took place last August might land them in serious trouble, it has emerged. Ruto had earlier promised to look into the happenings, alleging that some powerful state agencies like the National Security Advisory Committee (NSAC) were involved in a plot to take away his win and hand it to Azimio's Raila Odinga. A similar request would later be made by former IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, who alleged that there were attempts to force him into rigging Ruto out, attempts that at some point included threats. The Daily Nation has established that Ruto has decided to go slow on probing the elections, upon realizing that the investigations might end up showing that he was not fairly declared winner.
