What Ruto Has Reportedly Decided to do After Realizing Raila's IEBC Whistleblower Might be Right

President William Ruto and his government have noticed that their earlier intentions to probe the happenings that took place last August might land them in serious trouble, it has emerged.

Ruto had earlier promised to look into the happenings, alleging that some powerful state agencies like the National Security Advisory Committee (NSAC) were involved in a plot to take away his win and hand it to Azimio's Raila Odinga.

A similar request would later be made by former IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, who alleged that there were attempts to force him into rigging Ruto out, attempts that at some point included threats.

The Daily Nation has established that Ruto has decided to go slow on probing the elections, upon realizing that the investigations might end up showing that he was not fairly declared winner.

The paper reports that Ruto is aware that with Raila claiming to have Intel from within IEBC on how he was rigged in, the investigation might vindicate the former Premier, leaving him in a funny situation.

Allies of Ruto have also backed the decision not to form a commission of inquiry into the matter, with MPs Zaheer Jhanda (Nyaribari Chache), Sylvannus Osoro (South Mugirango), Julius Ruto of Kesses saying that the probe is no longer necessary.

But allies of Raila maintain that the probe is necessary, unless Ruto knows that he lost to the Azimio side and is now trying to hide it.

“They should not back down on this plan. What is their fear now? If the current leadership is sure of their victory, it should accept this move and let the whole world know that we are sore losers,” ODM National Treasurer Timothy Bosire says.opera news
